1. Stationary Crossovers - This exercise is very good for improving ball handling ability and can also get your arms in great shape. Perform this drill by bending your knees slightly and doing a crossover dribble from one hand to the other hand without looking down at the basketball. Do 2 sets of 40. Make sure to use your finger tips and do this drill as fast as you can without losing control of the basketball
2. Stop and Pop Drill - This drill is great for dribbling the basketball and learning to pull up for a mechanically sound jump shot. To do this drill, start at the right corner of the three point line and dribble inside of the three point line with your right hand to the mid range area and take a pull up jumper. You will do this five times in each spot (corners, wings, and middle of three point line) switching your dribbling hand after each rep.
3. Imaginary Defender Drill - This is another great drill that will help improve ball handling ability. To do this drill start at half court with a basketball and dribble while sprinting to the middle of the three point line. Imagine if there was a defender right at the three point line and do a move you would use to get pass them. You can do a crossover, a spin move. a behind the back dribble, or any other move that would help you get pass your defender. This drill is great for trying different moves or perfecting moves you already know how to perform.
Now that you are aware of these drills, put them to work as soon as possible. These are very productive basketball exercises that can seriously help your game. When doing basketball exercises it is wise to focus on your weakness or the most important basketball skills that you believe you need to master. Ball handling is a great skill to work on because it is the important thing when it comes to scoring.
